HTTPS or HTTP?

How your site’s appearance would be influenced if you switch from HTTP to HTTPS?

If by design HTTPS (SSL) is slower than HTTP this wouldn’t hurt your appearance in Google even if the Search machine focuses on the speed. HTTPS is a secure encrypted version of HTTP and is good thing for users if you provide payment system on your site. Google is working on improving the appearance speed when HTTPS.

You don’t need to worry about being penalized because of the speed when HTTPS.

If you want to have a secure site from the beginning it is a good time to switch to HTTPS.

Take care!

Traditional Keyword targeting

Most of SEO specialists have been hired to build SEO strategy after website is being created. Usually website owner comes up with an idea to rank for some keywords that are not enough relative to website’s content. Then the SEO person needs to reorganize internal website structure, makes appropriate link building and most likely to include new pages with rich content.

This would be great to be done, but then the client says that he has a website, he doesn’t want any changes, he just want to rank for few keywords.

Unfortunately, this problem is common and if the SEO person and the website owner don’t solve it, the result will be almost any good ranking or unappropriate result page.

I wish you luck!

Take care.

Web news

Welcome the 500 new improvements of Google search algorithms! By computing a lot of data and researching, Google engineers improve search engine algorithms all the time, providing people better quality of information on the web.

They continue to experiment with different speeds for how quickly they update the results while we type in Google Instant. We can use our personalized search and improve our own results of most searched topics.

Do you know what Google means? This is actually a number with a hundred zeros after it. It is a really big number! No wonder they called the search engine like this. It contains a large amount of world’s  information data.

Go Google it!

For all webmasters and SEO specialist there is new trend. We had used as many exact match words as possible in anchor texts but this could hurts the web site now. Partial match means any anchor text that contains at least one of our keyword phrases.

It seems that people rank higher when there are partial match. For example if your keyword phrase is ‘cleaning services’ it is better to use ‘We provide the best cleaning services at our area’ instead of ‘cleaning services’. When you have partial match there are a lot more phrases and long term value that is more likely to give you better looking link profile.

As Google is improving its algorithms and it is getting more intelligent we need to follow the new standards and make web sites for humans not for search engines.

Do not spin articles!

One of the nastiest SEO practice is to spin content in many sites, re-publish articles, or generate crap from article directories while trying to improve PR and search ranking results.

Mainly we have to do site for people, not for Search Engines, as Gurus say. After Panda update these spamy techniques don’t work any more or not for a long time. Duplicating content may help you temporarily but not for long. Spinning one and the same content more than one time is completely wrong, regarding Google tips also. You could lose your PR and go away from first page results, because site will be penalized.

These practice are also very risky. When the search engine algorithm changes, you just disappear. This will cost you again more time to go back again and again….

Google is getting smarter and using user data to understand what people like which is the most important.

So people, don’t spin content, don’t duplicate content, don’t think of ranking factors! Make your site user-friendly and likeable. Instead loosing your time with black-heading, do something real and profitable.
